About us
Drive, passion and many years of experience
We have been advising and supporting our clients in personnel and organizational development processes for more than 30 years. For us, successful work means dealing sensitively and fearlessly with tense situations and communicating complex topics in an understandable and implementation-oriented way. In addition to shared values and a common focus on content, we as consultants bring a wide range of thematic focuses and differentiated field skills to our services.
Many of the models and methods we teach originate from “Hamburg Communication Psychology”. It was founded by our colleague Friedemann Schulz von Thun with his books “Miteinander reden” (Talking to each other) and has been further developed over the past 30 years in close cooperation with us and other members of the “Arbeitskreis Kommunikation und Klärungshilfe” (Communication and Clarification Support Working Group).
Our principles
People are different
In most issues in life, there is more than one truth. This is because people assess the same issue differently, for good reasons. These result from personal life experience, individual values, and a specific understanding of the situation. Where these good reasons are understood and respected, people are more inclined to be tolerant, cooperative and ready to compromise – and diversity can be experienced as an enrichment.
Truth before Beauty
Clarity is more important than good feelings. Only where it is allowed to look at the (subjective) truth, a solid basis for cooperation emerges. This requires a climate in which the thoughts and feelings that lie at the heart of the issues at hand can be discussed constructively and without fear.
Conflicts are resources
Where people with different values and standards meet in different roles, conflicts are daily routine. In dilemmas, rushed solutions often turn out to be a one-way street. However, where time and nerves are invested to settle issues that arise in a diligent matter, solutions often come about naturally. Understanding, experiencing, and acting complement each other. If you only focus on the theoretical content in seminars, if you only have feelings in conflicts, or only learn methods in trainings, you will not gain access to all the benefits that are available. It is our central aim to balance these three aspects of holistic learning.
Humor helps
Working on challenging tasks requires a lot of resources – humor is one of them. Desperately looking for solutions to problems may hamper constructive developments and obstruct the view for what is possible. A humorous approach to and handling of complex situations eases tension and provides new, unpredictable opportunities.
